Hoboken Police Street Crimes Unit Makes Multiple Drug Distribution Arrests

Hoboken Detective Lieutenant Jonathan Mecka announced this afternoon that during the first two weeks of May, the Hoboken Street Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics. The investigation was aimed at corroborating information received regarding complaints about narcotics distribution and use of illegal narcotics in a particular area.  Mecka says, as always, the Hoboken Department Tip-line is 24 hours and completely anonymous. This number is not for emergency use and you should dial 911 in case of an emergency or 201-420-2100 for non-emergency situations.

The following 6 arrest were the result of the continuing drug distribution investigation:

  1. Arrestee: Albert Stone 36 of Hoboken and Jason Garcia 19 of Guttenberg

Incident Date: 05/06/2022 at approximately 940pm

Incident Locations: 3rd and Harrison Streets, Hoboken

Officers involved: Hoboken Police Street Crimes Detectives

Charges: Albert Stone – The sale of CDS Heroin, the sale of CDS Heroin within 500 feet of a public housing, the sale of CDS Heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone, the sale of CDS Cocaine, the sale of CDS Cocaine within 500 feet of a public housing, the sale of CDS Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS Heroin, possession with intent to distribute Heroin within 500 feet of a public housing, possession with intent to distribute Heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine, possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine within 500 feet of a public housing, possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession of CDS Oxycodone, possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Jason Garcia – possession of CDS Crack Cocaine, possession of CDS Heroin, possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

On Friday May 6th, 2022 at approximately 940pm the Hoboken Police Department Street Crimes Unit’s Sergeant William Collins, Detectives Mark Mullins, Ryan Houghton, Connor Milne among others conducted an investigation in the area of 3rd and Harrison Streets. During that time, they observed Albert Stone 36 of Hoboken sell suspected CDS to Jason Garcia 19 of Guttenberg. After they witnessed the sale, Detectives were able to stop both individuals shortly after. During the on-scene investigation Mr. Garcia was placed under arrest in the area of the 2nd Street Light Rail Station. Mr. Garcia was in possession of wax folds believed to contain CDS heroin, a small white rock like substance believed to be CDS Cocaine and drug paraphernalia which is used to inhale CDS. Shortly after Mr. Garcia’s arrest the detectives were able to place Mr. Stone under arrest in the area of 3rd and Marshall Drive. While on-scene detectives recovered 29 wax folds believed to be CDS heroin, 9 small plastic bags containing a white rock like substance believed to be cocaine, and a pill believed to be Oxycodone. Mr. Stone also had US currency on him which was seized by the Hoboken Police Department as a nexus to his illegal drug distribution. Mr. Stone and Mr. Garcia were both transported to headquarters where they were processed.

Mr. Stone was then transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility and Mr. Garcia was released on a summons to appear in court.

 

  1. Arrestee: Frederick Ladson 51 of Hoboken and Selvin Garcia 18 of West New York

Incident Date: 05/11/2022 at approximately 530pm

Incident Locations: 318 Harrison Street, Hoboken

Frederick Ladson Charges: Sale of CDS heroin, Sale of CDS heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone heroin, Sale of CDS within 500 feet of public housing heroin, Possession with the intent to distribute CDS Heroin, Possession with the intent to distribute CDS heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone, Possession with the intent to distribute CDS heroin with 500 feet of public housing

Selvin Garcia 18 of West New York, Charges: Possession of CDS heroin

On Wednesday May 11th, 2022 at approximately 530pm the Hoboken Police Department Street Crimes Unit Sergeant William Collins, Detectives Mark Mullins, Ryan Houghton, Connor Milne among others conducted an investigation in the area of 3rd and Harrison Streets. During that time, they observed Frederick 51 of Hoboken sell suspected CDS to Selvin Garcia 18 of West New York. After they witnessed the sale, Detectives were able to stop both individuals shortly after. During the on-scene investigation both we placed under arrest for their part in the distribution of what Is believed to be Heroin. While on-scene detectives recovered additional wax folds on Mr. Ladson which is believed to contain heroin. Detectives also located wax folds on Mr. Selvin which are believed to be heroin.

Mr. Ladson and Mr. Selvin were both transported to headquarters where they were processed prior to being transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

  1. Arrestee: Derrick Delacruz 28 of Hoboken and Edwin Rosado 55 of Hoboken

Derrick Delacruz Charges: – The sale of CDS Heroin, the sale of CDS Heroin within 500 feet of a public housing, the sale of CDS Heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Heroin >.05 oz <5 oz, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Heroin within 500 feet of a public housing, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Heroin within 1000 feet of a school zone, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine within 500 feet of a public housing, Possession with intent to distribute CDS Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school zone, Resisting Arrest using Physical Force causing Bodily Injury to Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, and Possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Edwin Rosado, 55 of Hoboken Charges: Possession of CDS heroin, 1 open warrant for arrest

On Thursday, May 12th, 2022 at approximately 630pm The Hoboken Police Department Street Crimes Unit Sergeant William Collins, Detectives Mark Mullins, Ryan Houghton, Connor Milne among others conducted an investigation in the area of 3rd and Marshall Drive. During that time, they observed Derrick Delacruz 28 of Hoboken sell suspected CDS to Edwin Rosado 55 of Hoboken. After they witnessed the sale, Detectives were able to stop both individuals shortly after however Mr. Delacruz resisted arrest by running away. After a short foot pursuit, detectives were able to catch up to him however Delacruz grabbed Detective Houghton and they both fell to the floor. Detective Houghton suffered a minor injury based on Mr. Delacruz’s actions. Once on the ground the detectives and uniform officers were able to safely place him under arrest. During search incident to arrest Mr. Delacruz possessed 227 wax folds believed to be CDS heroin and 46 small plastic bags containing a white rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine. Mr. Delacruz also had US currency on him which was seized by the Hoboken Police Department as a nexus to his illegal drug distribution. Mr. Rosado was arrested without incident and was in possession of wax folds believed to be CDS heroin.

Mr. Delacruz and Mr. Rosado were both transported to headquarters where they were processed prior to being transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
