Hoboken is inviting residents to provide feedback for the future 800 Monroe Resiliency Park by participating in a community survey focused on the design of the park’s tennis courts and dog runs.
The survey is intended to gather community input on preferred features for these recreational amenities as the project moves into the engineering and development phase. Community feedback will be used to finalize plans for tennis court and dog run amenities, alongside engineering, accessibility, operational, and maintenance requirements.
Once constructed, the resiliency park at 800 Monroe will have the capacity to store more than 340,000 gallons of stormwater during heavy rainfall events, helping to mitigate flooding as well as a variety of recreational amenities for residents during clear sky days. The park will include three tennis courts, dog runs, plaza and garden spaces, an open lawn, and outdoor fitness equipment.

In 2025, the Hoboken City Council approved the project’s final concept design and authorized financing for the cost of constructing the resiliency park. The project team is now preparing detailed engineering and bid plans, further refining both the park’s recreational amenities and resiliency infrastructure.
The City anticipates breaking ground on the park, which has already received over $10.8 million in grant and developer funding, in 2027. “The 800 Monroe Resiliency Park will help us advance both flood mitigation and recreational opportunities for our community,” said Mayor Emily Jabbour. “As we move into the next phase of design, we’re encouraging residents to share their ideas to help ensure the design reflects the needs and priorities of those using them. I look forward to breaking ground on this park next year!”
