The federal government has provided nearly $8 million in CARES Act funding to Hudson County, and five of its municipalities, to held tenants in public housing who are struggling to pay their rant due to financial hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The total amount being shared is $7,878,044.
The money comes from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant Program. It can be used for rental obligations for up to six months.
In all, New Jersey housing authorities received a total of $76 million. The Hudson breakdown is as follows:
- Jersey City – $3.136.493
- Condado de Hudson – $1.804.701
- Ciudad de la Unión – $1.001.732
- Bergen del Norte – $689.357
- Bayona – 654.379 dólares
- Hoboken – $591.382
