Hudson Commissioners Receive Funds From NJ Education Department

The Hudson County Board of Commissioners have approved funds from the New Jersey Department of Education and Workforce Development.  The funds, totaling $200,000, will be used for educational services for Hudson County residents, specifically to be utilized by Educate the Block, located at 285 West Side Avenue in Jersey City.  The grant will provide educational services, work preparations, and training activities specifically for the culinary arts, logistics, and media production programs to WorkFirst New Jersey clients.

Each program offers an industry credential certification upon completion and all in-demand fields that WorkFirst clients will have as an option to select for a career path.

Educate the Block has sought out and created optional partnerships with several employers who will provide internships in the fields of culinary arts, logistics and media production for WorkFirst clients.

The grant, which began on January 1, will continue through June 30, 2021.

Board Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Hudson County Board of Commissioners are committed to providing the necessary resources needed to assist county residents in acquiring educational training in order for them to obtain gainful employment.
