Hudson County Begins Application Process For Sports in Education Grant

There’s a new sports education grant program starting up that is now accepting applications through June 24th.  The program is open to all Hudson County public and private schools, including charter schools, as well as school districts, up to the eighth grade.

The program has the full support of Hudson County Executive Craig Guy.

The Sports in Education Pilot Program (SiEP) provides funds to non-profit organizations that help enhance current curriculum with Hudson County-specific content for students grades K through 8 in sports instruction and education. Through this program,
the students of participating Hudson County schools will have an alternative to learning as they work to understand teamwork, develop their fundamental gross motor skills, and increase their confidence.

The grant totals $125,000.  The classes can either be held during normal school hours, or after school.  It will run for 22 weeks, two hours per week per school.

Applications are available online at hudsoncountyculturalaffairs.org/siep.
