Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Commissioners has approved the acceptance of funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The money comes from the Health Resources Services Administration, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Minority AIDS Initiative Grant. The total amount of the grant is $1,093,926.
The purpose of the program is to provide services that include outpatient, ambulatory medical care, essential support services, medical case management services and other core medical and social services programs for those living in Hudson County with HIV/AIDS. This also includes Minority Aids Initiative core medical and outreach service dollars.
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Minority Aids Initiative program runs from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022.
Board Chairman Anthony Vainieri says the Commissioners are committed to providing the needed support services, referral services, educational services and prevention services for residents of Hudson County who are living with HIV/AIDS.
