Hudson County Releases 2nd COVID-19 Vaccine PSA Video

North Bergen EMT Deisy Guzman Shares Her Experience During Early Days of Pandemic, Hopes Others Get Vaccinated

KEARNY, N.J. — Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise is releasing the second in a series of videos that are part of his public awareness campaign to reduce vaccine reluctance across the county, especially in communities of color. The video features Deisy Guzman, a North Bergen Emergency Medical Technician who was on the front lines for the harrowing early days of the pandemic and saw up close the toll it took on Hudson County. Guzman, who is Latina, shares her experience in confronting vaccine hesitancy from her family and friends but ultimately helping convince them that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective.

The video ad is available here:

“As both a Latina and as someone who saw up close the deadly consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hudson County, Deisy Guzman’s unique perspective on the vaccine is incredibly valuable and we want our residents to hear her story,” said County Executive DeGise. “We are continuing our campaign to make sure all of the diverse communities that make up Hudson County are ready to be vaccinated when supply is available and I thank Deisy for sharing her experience and spreading the word that the vaccines are safe and effective.”
