What a joyous evening at the North Bergen Recreation Center on Meadowview Avenue on Thursday, as hundreds of township families attended the annual, Easter Festival.
Children and their parents took photos with the Easter Bunny and the Administration of Mayor Nicholas Sacco. The kids received chocolate bunnies, goody bags and stuffed animals…rabbits of course. There was a bouncy house outside, right next to the live animal display. The township invited New Joy Farm of Ringoes, an unincorporated community in East Amwell, New Jersey, located in Hunterdon County to bring some of their pets. Children got to see and touch bunny rabbits and baby chicks.
.
Inside the Rec Center there were games for the kids, as well as cotton candy and popcorn. There was a guy making balloon animals, and the adults received plants for their gardens.
According to Parks Commissioner Hugo Cabrera, upwards of 2,000 goody bags were handed out. As with all of the other holiday events that take place at the Rec Center, Cabrera congratulated and thanked the employees of the Parks Department for their hard work in setting up the Rec Center in an Easter-theme.
The room, as always, looked great. Everyone who attended had a great time. Commissioner Cabrera even hinted that there’s another, special event on tap in the very near future. Hudson TV knows what it is, but the Commissioner has sworn me to secrecy!! Sorry folks. You’re just going to have to wait. I will say it sounds pretty special and residents should have another blast.
