Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez says an investigation is continuing by the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit following a crash shortly past midnight on Saturday which claimed the life of a woman.

According to the Prosecutor, Jersey City Police received a report at approximately 12:20 am of a crash on Route 185 near yhr Linden Avenue East intersection.  When police arrived they discovered a 2019 Nissan had crashed into the rear of a parked, unoccupied, tractor trailor.

The female driver and two female passengers were transported to the Jersey city Medical Center, where at approximately 1 am, one of the passengers, 31-year old Stephanie Weymouth of Bayonne was pronounced dead.

Both the driver, a 28-year old Staten Island resident, and the other passenger, a 27-year old from Old Bridge, were treated at the JCMC for non-life threatening injuries and released.

As of this morning, Monday, no arrests have been made.
