The Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) has resumed a long-term water main replacement project along Marin Boulevard between 18th Street and Observer Highway. The construction will likely impact traffic heading into and out of southern Hoboken.

This weekend, work will be ongoing 24-7 through noon on Monday, February 19.  Construction will resume on Tuesday, February 20, through Friday, Feruary 23, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Beginning at 5 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, February 16, Marin Boulevard, which turns into Henderson Street in Hoboken, will have one lane open in a southbound direction between 18th Street in Jersey City and Observer Highway in Hoboken. Northbound lanes will be closed.

From Tuesday, February 20 through Friday, February 23, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Marin Boulevard will be closed to all traffic between 18th Street and Observer Highway.

Drivers are encouraged to use Grove Street and Jersey Avenue into and out of southern Hoboken or use northern routes during work hours. Residents are advised to leave extra travel time. Hoboken and Jersey City police will be on site to assist with detours and other traffic impacts.
