Officer Involved: Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski, P.O. Samuel Flores, P.O. William Bullock, and P.O. Joseph Spano
At bout 8:48PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of 11th and Madison Street. They responded to a Male and Female who were pulling on car doors in the area of 13th and Willow Avenue. The caller gave a description of the actors and their direction of travel. Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski, P.O. William Bullock and Officer Samuel Flores responded and met up with the caller in the arera of 11th and Madison Street. The caller pointed to a male he called about, who was later identified as Lovett Rodriguez. Sgt. Zeszotarski ordered Rodriguez to stop and Rodriguez took off running. Sgt. Zeszotarski and Officer Flores pursued Rodriguez on foot. They chased Rodriguez for about two blocks and apprehended him in the area of 9th and Madison Street. As Rodriguez was being pursued, Officer Bullock drove his radio car around the block to assist with the foot pursuit. As Officer Bullock drove down Monroe Street, he observed a female fitting the description given out by the caller. This female would later be identified as Bayla Martinez. Officer Bullock approached Martinez on foot and ordered Martinez to stop. Martinez ran from the eastside of the street to the westside, where Officer Bullock caught up with here and placed her under arrest with the assistance of Officer Spano. A search of Martinez revealed Drug Paraphernalia.
Rodriguez’s charges were placed on a warrant. Rodriguez also had 5 warrants for his arrest, 3 from Jersey City, 1 from Hoboken, and 1 from Ocean County. Rodriguez was transported to the Hudson County Jail. Martinez’s charges were also placed on a warrant. Martinez also had 4 warrants for arrest, 1 from Jersey City, 1 from Paramus, 1 from Wayne, and 1 from Union. Martinez was transported to the Hudson County Jail.
