Jersey City Fire Under Investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force

A fire that occurred on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at approximately 12:11 p.m. in a single-family residence located at 309 10th Street in Jersey City is currently under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force.

Upon arrival, the Jersey City Fire Department (JCFD) discovered a fire in the single-family residence and an unresponsive male victim. The victim, a 50-year-old Jersey City resident, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services and subsequently transferred to the Burn Unit at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for further treatment. He is currently in critical condition but stable.

The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force conducted an initial investigation and has determined that the fire does not appear suspicious at this time. However, the Origin and Cause of the fire remain under investigation. The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Fire Department.
