Jersey City Man and Pennsylvania Woman Arrested for Robbery in Hoboken

On Thursday, January 06, 2022, just after 1:00 AM, Sergeant William Bullock and Police Officer Joshua Campoverde responded to the 2nd Street Light Rail Station on a report of a robbery.

The victim reported that she had just exited the light rail train and was crossing the cul-de-sac when she was approached from behind and was pushed to the ground. The actors then demanded the victim to hand over her valuables and proceeded to search her. The actors then fled east on 2nd Street and descriptions of the two actors were provided. Moments later, Police Officer Anthony Olivera located two matching the description and stopped them in the area of 4th and Jefferson Street. The following officers responded as backup: Police Officer Harry Montalvo, Police Officer Nicholas Losurdo and Police Officer Domenick Allegretta. On scene investigation led to arresting them and identifying them as Destiny Higgins 20 y/o Female from Edwardsville, PA and Earl Mills 18 y/o Male from Jersey City, NJ. Mills attempted to runaway when being placed under arrest. Higgins was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both arrestees were transported to headquarters for processing. Higgins was charged with Robbery, Receiving Stolen Property, and Drug Paraphernalia and her complaint was placed on a warrant. Mills was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Hindering Apprehension, Resisting Arrest, and Receiving Stolen Property. Mills charges were placed on a warrant.

Both Higgins and Mills were transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
