Jersey City Man Hospitalized After Fire; Authorities Probe Deliberate Fire-Setting

Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, in conjunction with the Jersey City Fire Department, is actively investigating a significant fire that broke out early this morning at 366 1⁄2 7th Street in Jersey City. The blaze was reported shortly before 2:10 a.m. through a 911 call.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find an active fire engulfing the residence. During their suppression efforts, emergency responders discovered a 57-year-old male inside the home who was unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries. He was swiftly transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Jersey City Medical Center. Following initial treatment, he was transferred to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that the fire originated in a bedroom of the residence.
