The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission office on Summit Avenue in Jersey City, near Journal Square, has been shutdown because an employee has tested positive for the coronavirus. As if long lines weren’t annoying enough, now the office will be closed until October 6 according to a tweet send out by the state agency.
The Summit Avenue office does not do inspections, but it does take care of licenses and forms. During the spring and summer months, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission shit down for four months for in-person operations due to the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Garden State.
The MVC reopened on July 7.
