Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez this morning released the following information:
A security guard employed by the Jersey City Public Schools was arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit for submitting fraudulent medical claims to her insurance company.
34-year old Shalonda Bullock of Jersey City has been charged with one count of Insurance Fraud, a crime of the second degree. She was arrested at her place of employment on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 and released on a summons pending her first court appearance.
The investigation revealed Bullock submitted multiple fraudulent claims for payment to AFLAC insurance between 2019 and 2021. The policy was obtained through her employment at the Jersey City Public Schools. Prosecutor Suarez credited the Insurance Fraud Unit with the investigation and arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
