El Audubon Park de Jersey City vuelve a abrir con un parque infantil incluido el sábado

On Behalf of the Jersey City Parks Coalition, we are so thrilled to be here today to celebrate Audubon Park’s reopening and their new inclusive playground set!

As you might know, back in 2010 the original 1980’s American Disabilities Act was amended to include regulations for accessible play spaces.

Audubon Park is a fantastic example of Mayor Fulop’s leadership and his administration’s commitment to ensure that this playground is accessible to children and caregivers of all abilities and a forward looking use of Open Space Trust funding.

The colors are vibrant and inviting. It’s design encourages children of all ages to play, have fun without limitations and provide an enjoyable experience.

We know how important Audubon Park is to this community.  During the pandemic, Audubon Park provided residents a place where they can relax, take Zumba lessons, experience an outdoor Art exhibit. It hosted Birds of Prey program, where children encountered live Hawks and Screech owls. It was also one of 10 Jersey City Parks that employed JCPC Park Ambassador and summer interns who handed out much needed PPE. We are so proud to collaborate with the City and the Friends of Audubon park on many of these initiatives.

Our wish is that Audubon Park’s new and improved play area will continue to provide a welcoming social environment for Ward A, Ward F & B residents.
