While the Jose Marti STEM Academy is only in its fourth year as a high school in the Union City Board of Education, it has received national recognition from the U.S. Department of Education.  The school has been named a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Award For Excellence recipient.

The school has an enrollment just shy of 700 students, all of whom were invited to enroll.  The school boasts seven teachers with PhDs, a family atmosphere among the staff, students and administration. Principal Rudy Baez says the Blue Ribbon Excellence Award would not have been possible without the support of Superintendent of Schools Silvia Abbato and STEM Supervisor Nadia Makar.

In addition to the national Blue Ribbon Excellence Award, the school was recently recognized by US News & World Report among the highest performing schools in the state of New Jersey.

The Jose Marti STEM Academy will officially receive its Blue Ribbon Excellence Award this coming December.

Congratulations to everyone involved at the school for helping to bring national recognition to Union City’s high performing, educational institution.
