Job Fair At North Bergen Library Attracts Many Seeking Employment

The after-effects of the pandemic are still being felt in Hudson County, as many residents seeking employment attended a job fair at the North Bergen Library on Bergenline Avenue on Thursday.  Upwards of thirty vendors from various industries were on hand looking for potential hires.

Among the industries in attendance were law enforcement, both the North Bergen Police Department and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department; retail, featuring many stores from the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford; home health care and medical assistance; as well as the field of education, featuring the North Bergen Board of Education, Hudson County Schools of Technology and Hudson County Community College.  There were also some big name box stores.

North Bergen Library Director Sai Rao says in addition to holding job fairs twice a year, the library provides residents with courses to help them improve their resume, how to present themselves with confidence during the interview process and proper ways dress for those interviews so you can land the perfect job.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco and his Commission slate in the upcoming May election were on hand for the event, which has been held for at least the past twelve years.
