Kearny Bank To Close Its Hoboken Branch

A recent trend of Hoboken bank closures apparently is continuing.  Kearny Bank recently informed its customers that it will be shutting down its branch located at 1470 Garden Street will be closing its doors at the end of June.

In a letter dated March 30th, the bank informed its account holders that they can use the branch located in North Bergen at 8901 Kennedy Boulevard, as their accounts are being transferred to that location once the Hoboken branch shuts down.  Kearny Bank has not indicated why the Hoboken bank is closing.

The announcement of the Kearny Bank branch’s intention comes following last year’s closure of a PNC Bank branch shutting its uptown Hoboken location.
