North Bergen’s Larry Wainstein sat down with Hudson TV as he prepared to be sworn in as 33rd District State Assemblyman on Tuesday. Wainstein talked about issues he wants to focus on during his freshman term, including affordability, the need for housing, strengthening public safety laws in the district, and education. He’d like to get a new school built in North Bergen and hopes he’s assigned to the Education Committee.
Assemblyman Wainstein may be reached via cell phone at (201) 600-6909. He is still arranging a location for his legislative office.
In total, Hudson County’s three legislative districts will see four, new Assembly persons sworn in. Aside from Wainstein in the 33rd, which covers Union City, Weehawken, Guttenberg, West New York, North Bergen and Secaucus, the 32nd Assembly District will welcome two new representatives, outgoing Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Katie Brennan, while the 31st District will welcome former Hudson County Commissioner Jerry Walker.
