According to the latest statistics released by the New Jersey Department of Health on Sunday afternoon, Hudson County continues to have both the second highest number of positive COVID-19 cases in New Jersey with 17,408. That figure trails only Bergen County, which has consistently had the highest number of positive test results.
Unfortunately, Hudson County also has had the second highest number of coronavirus-related deaths of all counties in the state with 969, trailing only Bergen County’s 1,355 and Essex County’s 1,423.
Here’s a breakdown of each municipality in Hudson County as of this morning:
*Bayonne – 941 cases, 56 deaths
*East Newark – 66 cases, 7 deaths
*Guttenberg – 192 cases, 21 deaths
*Harrison – 347 cases, 19 deaths as of Thursday
*Hoboken – 531 cases, 25 deaths as of Thursday
*Jersey City – 6,201 cases, 349 deaths
*Kearny – 1,083 cases, 56 deaths as of Thursday
*North Bergen – 2,302 cases, 110 deaths
*Secaucus – 501 cases, 20 deaths as of Thursday
*Union City – 3,058 cases, 130 deaths as of Thursday
*Weehawken – 287 cases, 18 deaths as of Wednesday
*West New York – 1,926 cases, 85 deaths as of Saturday
These numbers are likely to change later today when Governor Phil Murphy gives his daily COVID-19 update to the media.
