Lyndhurst Man Arrested and Charged With Attempted Murder In Hoboken

Hoboken Police Detective/Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera has announced the arrest of a man in the stabbing and attempted murder of a North Bergen man.  The Hoboken Police Department issued the following press release this afternoon:

On Wednesday, September 22, Detective Michael Losurdo with the assistance of Detective Christine Collins, Detective Bret Globke, and Detective John Quinones, identified and charged Andre Mateus, a 26-year old male from Lyndhurst, for the stabbing of a 22-year old North Bergen male.

Mateus was arrested on September 22 in Lyndhurst with the help of the Lyndhurst Police Department.  Mateus was transported to Hoboken Police Department and charged with Criminal Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Mateus’s charges were placed on a warrant and he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
