Male Paterson Resident Shot Tuesday While Standing Outside

Photo Credit:  Google Maps                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting which left a Paterson resident with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora the shooting took place at approximately 2:53 p.m.    Members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Godwin Avenue and Carroll Street.   When they arrived, police located a potential crime scene, and a 30- year-old male, Paterson resident who had sustained multiple, non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.  Based upon the initial police investigation, the victim was standing in the area of Godwin Avenue and Carroll Street when several people began shooting at him.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.  More information will be released when it becomes available.
