Due to the continuing number of positive COVID-19 cases among students, school personnel and the general Hudson County public at large, as of 8:30 this morning, Friday, January 7, the following school districts have announced that virtual learning will continue for students next week, the week of Monday, January 10, with school buildings potentially reopening on Tuesday, January 18, the day after the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  That decision will be announced by each district next week:

  • Jersey City
  • Union City
  • Guttenberg
  • Secaucus

North Bergen Superintendent, Dr. George Solter, told Hudson TV this morning, teachers will report to their school buildings on Monday and Tuesday, January 10 and 11, but students will remain home learning virtually.  North Bergen school buildings will reopen to students on Wednesday, January 12.

Each district reminds parents that everything is subject to adjustment.

Due to today’s inclement weather, Hoboken public schools have a delayed opening of 9:45 am.  Classes will end at 3 pm.
