UNION CITY, NEW JERSEY) Mayor Brian P. Stack, the Union City Board of Commissioners and the Union City Board of Education seek your help in collecting donations for those impacted by the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico.
“Many residents of Union City have relatives and friends who have suffered a great deal of loss over the last few days. The earthquakes in Puerto Rico have limited basic resources such as food, water, electricity and shelter on the island,” said Mayor Brian P. Stack. “The American Red Cross, is a reputable organization, has been working tirelessly in Puerto Rico to aid in disaster relief, but they are in need of additional support to continue these efforts,” said Stack. “We are proud to team up with the Red Cross to accept donations for their continued work.”
Residents may drop off their donations in the form of a check or money order made payable to the American Red Cross at the office of Mayor Brian P. Stack, 3715 Palisade Avenue, 3rd Floor, Union City, New Jersey 07087.
At the request of the American Red Cross, the city is only accepting monetary donations for disaster relief in Puerto Rico. Donations to the American Red Cross may be made directly through their website, Redcross.org, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
