MUNICIPAL BUILDING 6808 PARK AVENUE GUTTENBERG, N.J. 07093

OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
TOWN OF GUTTENBERG
Dear Guttenberg Resident,

201-210-1930 FAX: 201-868-9332

I wish to update you on the current situation with the most current information available. As of this afternoon, we have a total of 15 residents who have tested positive for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). As more tests are being conducted, it is expected that this number will continue to rise over the next few weeks.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I also inform you of 1 death due to complications related to COVID-19. Our thoughts are with these residents and their families during this time, especially with the family who has lost a loved one.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for everyone to make every effort to follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control through the practice of social distancing, washing your hands, and, most importantly, staying home. Our Health Official has been continuously monitoring these cases, as well as any new cases that may develop, and is working around the clock with state and federal health officials during this public health emergency.

I remind all residents that through the Proclamation of Local Emergency signed on March 16th, there is a town wide curfew between the hours of 10:00PM and 5:00AM. Through a number of Executive Orders, Governor Murphy has ordered the closure of schools, as well as a number of non-essential services, until further notice. The Town will continue to provide updates as information becomes available and ask for your ongoing patience throughout this unprecedented time.

Although Town Hall may be restricted to public access, we remain staffed and ready to assist via phone (201-868-2315) or e-mail. Guttenberg is an extremely strong and enduring community. Together we can, and will, get through this pandemic.
Wishing you and your families well. Thank you for your cooperation.
Very tru yours, W D. Mayor

WAYNE D. ZITT, JR. MAYOR
