Morristown Man Arrested For DWI After Hitting Parked, Hoboken Cars

24-year old John Limato of Morristown has been arrested by Hoboken police after he was charged with DWI on Sunday night and leaving the scene of an accident.  According to Detective/Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, Limato struck several parked cars around 10:20 pm.

Officers responded to a radio transmission of a vehicle operating in the area of 9th and Adams Streets without a driver’s side, front tire.  When police arrive at the scene, they observed numerous parked vehicles with damage around 8th and Grand Streets.

They then received word that the vehicle in question was driving westbound from 8th and Adams Streets. Police observed dark marks in the street, as well as a gouge in the asphalt.  Following the markings, police found an unoccupied Jeep liberty with heavy damage at 4th and Jackson Streets.

After receiving a description of the alleged driver, police found him in the vacinity of 219 Jackson Street.  Police confirmed Limato as the driver of the vehicle which fled the accident scenes.

Limato was given a field sobriety test, which he failed.  He has been charged with driving while intoxicated, plus reckless driving, possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, and improper use of a cell phone while operating a moving vehicle.

The investigation also determined that Limato struck at least 4 parked vehicles.
