Following an historic season, the North Bergen High School Marching Band was honored at this week’s township Board of Commissioners’ meeting at Town Hall.

On Wednesday Mayor Nick Sacco and the Commissioners recognized the Marching Band for an extraordinary season that brought home major titles and made township history.  A proclamation was presented to the band, followed by a well-deserved pizza party later in the day to celebrate their accomplishments.

Last Sunday, November 9th the North Bergen Bruins Marching Band achieved an outstanding milestone at the Tournament of Bands (TOB) Atlantic Coast Championships held at Hershey Park, Pennsylvania, earning 1st Place in Group II A Class and receiving awards for Best Music and Best Visual.  With this remarkable accomplishment, North Bergen proudly holds the title of Triple Champions, taking home the Regional, State, and Atlantic Coast Championships in the 2025 season.

“The hard work, discipline, and teamwork shown by these young musicians are a testament to the strength of our schools and the commitment of their teachers and families. This is an incredible accomplishment for our students and a moment of great pride for our entire community,” said Mayor Sacco. “Congratulations to the talented students, dedicated staff, exceptional Band Director, and all the families and supporters who helped make this championship season possible. We could not be prouder of what they’ve achieved.”
