New NHCAC Chairman Ahmad Wants Expansion of Services & Better Communication With Needy

Weehawken Township Manager Giovanni Ahmad, who serves as a Weehawken Board of Education Trustee and Captain with the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad, was recently appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Hudson Community Action Corporation.  Ahmad says expanding services for residents in need, particularly health care services, and opening better lines of communication with residents, are his immediate goals.

The NHCAC’s mission statement says its goal “is to promote and improve the quality of life and eliminate factors leading to poverty for northern New Jersey residents by providing comprehensive health and social services with compassion through collaborations and partnerships in a culturally sensitive environment.”

Hudson TV spoke with Board Chairman Ahmad about his vision and plans for moving the federally qualified health organization forward.

NHCAC receives more than 80-percent of its funding from the federal government.
