There was no damage reported from last night’s fire in a second floor apartment at 5601 Park Avenue on West New York.
According to North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Jonathan Rush, the call came in at 10:19 pm. When firefighters arrived, they found a small fire in a pot on the kitchen stove. Firefighters contained the fire to the oven area and ventilated the room. There was no structural damage of any kind to the kitchen.
The Department was able to extinguish the fire and complete their work within an hour. Two apartment residents were treated for simple smoke inhalation and were transported to Palisades Medical Center.
