The memory of a former North Bergen Democratic committee person was honored on Wednesday along Broadway.  Mayor Nicholas Sacco presided over the unveiling of a plaque dedicating a tree to Elaine Nicoliello.  Located at the corner of Broadway and 74th Street, near where she lived and served as a committee person, the tree honors her outstanding commitment to the town and local residents.
In addition to serving as a committee person, Nicoliello, who passed in 2021, was a former member of the North Bergen Board of Education for more than 25 years and worked at the township Health Department.  She was 90 years old at the time of her passing.
Joining the Mayor at the dedication ceremony were Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri, along with Township Administrator Janet Castro, Police Chief Peter Fasilis, Assemblyman Pedro Mejia, members of North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, as well as many other township officials, employees, local residents, friends, and family.
Elaine’s daughter Kim Nicoliello unveiled the plaque dedicating the tree, which was planted last year.
