Sunday, September 20, 2026 · Serving all of Hudson County since March 2011The NHFUCF knows how important it is to ensure that firefighters are properly trained and equipped to respond to and mitigate extremely hostile incidents such as active shootings, active stabbings and other mass casualty events. It is just as critical, if not more, to take steps towards ensuring that the public is also trained and equipped to be able to save a life as bystanders at these horrific incidents when seconds count!
Bystanders will always be the first people on the scene and often the first to act!
For this reason The North Hudson Fire Unions Charitable Foundation is spearheading an initiative to obtain bleeding control ( B-Con) kits and provide them to all schools, places of worship, community centers and other places of assembly in the North Hudson area.
These kits will contain bleeding control devices such as tourniquets, trama bandages, hemostatic gauze, chest seals, gloves and paramedic shears.
Additionally, we have motivated dedicated firefighters and officers who are ready to assist in training agencies who receive the B-Con kit for their facility.
