Polk Street School of North Bergen is a very special place where children from all corners of Latin America learn together. Not only do they acquire English-language skills, they learn the core subjects in a bilingual education setting, at the school, everything is taught simultaneously in Spanish and English.

The school is home to students from Colombia, Guatemala, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras and Peru. The school’s mission is to provide a sound education and a comfortable safe space, free of discrimination and judgment, and filled with support and kindness.  Because so many of the students arrive in the United States with so little, Polk Street School relies greatly on the generosity of community donors who realize these children are the future.

“We are committed to giving back to the communities and we are humbled by this opportunity”, says Lisa Iachetti, President and CEO of Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center.

The gifts will be dropped off at the school by the Palisades Leadership Team and members of the North Bergen Mayor’s office on Monday, December 19th at 12:30 p.m.
