La Autoridad Portuaria presenta la mayor flota de autobuses eléctricos de Nueva Jersey en EWR

During a press conference held early this morning at New Liberty International Airport, the Port Authority unveiled New Jersey’s largest fleet of electric busses.  Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole was on hand to show off the Port Authority’s newest, zero-emission bus.

O’Toole says the agency’s fleet will service LaGuardia and JFK Airports, in addition to Newark Liberty.

Ahead of its target date, the agency transitioned it’s 36 shuttle fleet to electric.  This is part of the Port Authority’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and achieving the aggressive greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets as outlined in the Paris Climate Agreement.

Vehicle electrification is one of several components of the Port Authority’s far-reaching sustainability agenda, which includes innovative and industry-leading strategies in seven key areas, including clean electric vehicles.

12 of the new buses will be at Newark Liberty.  They are battery-operated and 40 feet long.  They can run up to 250 miles per charge.
