Offense Location: 3rd and Harrison Street Hoboken, NJ

 

Incident Detail: On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at about 12:46 PM, Hoboken Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 3rd and Harrison Street on a report of a group of males fighting in the street. It was also reported that one of the males involved was seen with a handgun. Upon officer’s arrival, they observed no one physically fighting. There was a large crowd of about 25 individuals on scene. As officers were conducting an on scene investigation, Sergeant Donald Rosso witnessed a male getting punched in the face by a male identified as Mickey Mendez 21 y/o Male from Jersey City, NJ. Mendez was placed under arrest by Sgt. Rosso. A search incident to Mendez’s arrest revealed he was in possession of a sock filled with a Duracell D battery. Mendez was transported to police headquarters and processed by Police Officer Teddy Santiago. Mendez was charged on a warrant with Riot, Disorderly Conduct, Simple Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. As the investigation continued and attempting to disburse the crowd that grew larger, two individuals began to fight each other. Officers were able to separate them and they were placed under arrest. The two were identified as Jamil Rivera 20 y/o Male from Hoboken, NJ and Kyeise Lopez 57 y/o Male from Hoboken, NJ. They were transported to headquarters and processed by Police Officer Dennis Figueroa, Jr and Police Officer Roberto Cuevas. They were both charged with Riot, Disorderly Conduct, and Simple Assault. Lopez was released on a summons. Rivera’s charges were placed on a warrant and he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. About an hour later, while officer were patrolling the area, two brothers Joseph Crandell 28 y/o Male from Hoboken, NJ and Keshon Crandell 21 y/o Male from Hoboken, NJ assaulted a male in the area of 3rd and Harrison Street. The two brothers were identified as being in the crowd when officers first arrived. They were both placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. They were both charged with Riot, Disorderly Conduct, and Simple Assault. Joseph was additionally charged with Resting Arrest and his charges were placed on a warrant. Joseph was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. Keshon’s charges were placed on a summons and released. No handgun was found during the investigation.
