Incident Detail: At about 2:13 PM, Officer Michael Straten, who was partnered with P.O. Marc Lombardi, observed a black Rang Rover with NY registration parked illegally in front of 33 Newark Street. The vehicle was doubled parked and blocking a lane of traffic. Officer Straten approached the vehicle and detected the odor of raw marijuana, which he believed was emanating from the passenger compartment of the Range Rover. Officer Straten approached the passenger side window which was slightly open and ordered the female passenger to lower the window. The odor of marijuana became pungent. Officer Straten then notified the driver the reason for his presence. At this time P.O. Joseph DiMartino, P.O. Frank Francolino, P.O. Anthony Olivera, Sgt. David Olivera and Sgt. Edward Sellick arrived on scene to assist. Officer Straten conducted his investigation and found the driver James Bookman to be in possession of Marijuana and Cocaine. Bookman was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. The female passenger was released on scene and the Range Rover was towed. Bookman was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Control Dangerous Substance Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Control Dangerous Substance Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 Ft of a Public Park a Control Dangerous Substance Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 Ft of a Public Park a Control Dangerous Substance Marijuana, Possession of a Control Dangerous Substance Cocaine, and Possession of a Control Dangerous Substance Marijuana. These charges were placed on a warrant. Officer Straten confiscated $3,167.00 from Bookman. Bookman was issued two motor vehicle summonses for Double Parking and Possession of a Control Dangerous Substance in a motor vehicle. Bookman was transported to the Hudson County Jail.

Arrestee: Tauland Coma 24 y/o Male from Lincoln Park, NJ
Arrest Date and Time: 03/07/20 and 3:38 PM
Arrest Location: 89 Washington Street Hoboken, NJ
Charge: Obstruction
Officers Involved: Det. Edward Lepre, Det. Bret Globke, and Sgt. Jonathan Mecka
Incident Detail: At about 3:38 PM, Det. Edward Lepre, Det. Bret Globke, and Sgt. Jonathan Mecka responded to 89 Washington Street on a report of a fight. Upon arrival, Officers found no one fighting. There was a large crowd and officers started to disperse the crowd. On male identified as Tauland Coma refused to leave the area. Coma was asked multiple times to clear the area by officers. Coma attempted to walk through officers while ignoring their request. Coma was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Coma was charged with Obstruction. Coma’s charge was placed on a special complaint summons and released.

Arrestee: David Dasilva 31 y/o Male from Newark, NJ
Arrest Date and Time: 03/08/20 at 12:14 AM
Arrest Location: 80 River Street Hoboken, NJ
Charges: Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Wrong Way on a One Way, and Failure to Exhibit Registration
Officers Involved: P.O. Jayla Vega and Det. Fabian Quinones
Incident Detail: At 12:14 AM, Officer Jayla Vega observed a white BMW with NJ registration driving the Wrong Way on a One Way in the area of 80 River Street. Also on scene were Det. Fabian Quinones, Det. David DiMartino, Officer Connor Milne, Det/Sgt. William Collins, and Det/Sgt. Josue Velez. Det. Quinones initiated the motor vehicle stop. Det. Quinones asked the driver for his credentials. The driver failed to produce a registration card. Det. Quinones and Officer Vega believed the operator David Dasilva was under the influence alcohol. Dasilva was asked to step out of the vehicle and Officer Vega performed a field sobriety test. Based on Officer Vega’s observations, she determined that Dasilva was impaired and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. Dasilva was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Dasilva supplied a breath sample and was found to be above the legal limit. Dasilva was issued four motor vehicle summons Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Wrong Way on a One Way, and Failure to Exhibit Registration. Dasilva was released to a responsible party.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated and Wrong Way on a One Way
Officers Involved: P.O. Dennis Figueroa, Jr, Det. Paul Quinn, and P.O. Domenick Allegretta
Incident Detail: At 3:40 AM, P.O. Dennis Figueroa, Jr observed a white Acura with NJ registration driving the wrong way on a one way in the area of 62 Newark Street. Also on scene were Sgt. Christopher LaBruno, Det/Sgt. William Collins, Officer Connor Milne, Det. Fabian Quinones, Det. Paul Quinn, and Officer Anthony Fesken. The vehicle was stopped and Det. Quinn approached the driver. Det. Quinn believed the operator Palash Jain was under the influence alcohol. Sgt. Collins requested an officer certified in field sobriety. Officer Domenick Allegretta responded and performed a field sobriety on Jain. Based on Officer Allegretta’s observations, he determined that Jain was impaired and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. Jain was transported to headquarters. Jain was processed and issued two summonses Driving While Intoxicated and Wrong Way on a One Way. Jain was released to a responsible party.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
