Producir cupones disponibles para personas mayores de Bayona de bajos ingresos

El alcalde de Bayona, Jimmy Davis, ha anunciado que los cupones de mercado de productos están disponibles para personas mayores de bajos ingresos a través de la Oficina de Envejecimiento de Bayona. En un esfuerzo por promover hábitos alimenticios saludables y mejorar el acceso a productos frescos, Baiona ha lanzado una iniciativa innovadora que ofrece cupones de productos a sus residentes. Este programa innovador tiene como objetivo abordar la inseguridad alimentaria y fomentar las opciones nutricionales entre la población de la ciudad. El programa de nutrición del mercado de “agricultores” de ancianos está diseñado para proporcionar a las personas mayores de bajos ingresos acceso a frutas, verduras, miel y hierbas cultivadas localmente.

El mercado de los agricultores de Bayona está disponible los martes de las 2:00 p.m. a las 7:00 p. m. hasta mediados de otoño. La última fecha prevista para el mercado de agricultores de Bayona 2023 es el martes 7 de noviembre. Se encuentra en la calle 23 de Oeste entre DelMonte Drive y Broadway.       

Los elegibles para los cupones de mercado son las personas mayores de bajos ingresos, generalmente definidas como individuos que tienen al menos 60 años de edad y que tienen ingresos familiares no superiores al 185% de las directrices federales de ingresos por pobreza, o $2.248 por mes para una persona soltera y $3.041 por mes para un hogar de dos. Para calificar, los ancianos deben proporcionar pruebas de edad, ingresos y residencia. Las pruebas aceptables incluyen la licencia de conducir, la tarjeta de Medicaid, la tarjetas de beneficios de cupones de alimentos (SNAP), la carta de premio del Seguro Social, la carta de pensiones y el estado bancario actual que muestra el depósito directo de los beneficios de ingresos.     

Los cupones se distribuirán en el Ayuntamiento, 630 Avenue C, en las Cámaras del Consejo el martes 20 de junio y el miércoles 21 de junio, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. La distribución de este año se realizará electrónicamente, con mayores que recibirán un código de exploración que será explorado por el agricultor para cada compra.   

La distribución continuará cada martes de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. comenzando el 27 de junio mientras los suministros duran.
