Fiscal: Un hombre acusado en relación con la investigación de la muerte de Kearny

Photo Credit:  Google Maps                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged a 39-year-old man in connection with the death investigation of Corey McFadden in Kearny.  According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Elliot Barton of Kearny is charged with one count of desecrating/disturbing human remains a crime of the second degree.  Barton was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at approximately 5:45 a.m., the Kearny Police Department received a 911 call regarding an individual lying on the ground in the area of Belgrove Drive and Afton Street. Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as Corey McFadden, age 34 – with multiple apparent stab wounds to the lower body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:20 a.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Additional charges and/or arrests may be expected.
