Rash of Paterson Shootings Continue

HOMICIDE IN THE AREA OF 120 BUTLER STREET IN PATERSON

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 1:21 a.m. this morning, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of 120 Butler Street in Paterson in response to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located Stephanie Caro, 35-years old from Paterson, lying in the alleyway next to 120 Butler Street with apparent gunshot wounds.                                                                                                                                     A second victim, a 35 year-old-male from Paterson, was located in front of 118 Butler Street, also having suffered gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene and began treating the victims. Caro succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced deceased on scene, while the male victim was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in stable condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
