Recent Trend of Paterson Shootings Continue Overnight

Another shooting has taken place in the City of Paterson.  Thankfully last night’s incident was a non-fatal one.  The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has issued the following press release:

SHOOTING IN AREA OF EAST 23RD STREET AND 8 TH AVENUE IN PATERSON

PATERSON, NEW JERSEY: August 8, 2021   Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 11:09 p.m. on August 7, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene and a 41- year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. Based upon the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was accosted by two unidentified actors inside a residential building in the area of East 23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Paterson when he was shot. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
