Rep. Rob Menendez’s Jersey City office temporarily closed Friday after it received a suspicious package, the congressman said.
“Earlier today, our Jersey City office temporarily closed after receiving a suspicious package while local authorities responded,” Menendez posted on X at 7:35 p.m. Friday.
“The substance was determined to be non-hazardous, and our office has resumed normal operations,” he wrote, adding, “I am grateful to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.”
Menendez, who represents New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District, lists his Jersey City district office at 257 Cornelison Avenue, Suite 4408, on his official House website.
His statement did not say when the package arrived, who sent it or what the substance was.
