Richard Tremitiedi, Former Hoboken Fire Chief, Passes Away

Richard Tremitiedi, who served as Chief of the Hoboken Fire Department between March 1, 1990 and September 1, 1995, has died.  Throughout his lifetime, Tremitiedi also served the Hoboken community in various capacities, including being a member of the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment and serving a training instructor for three years in the C.E.R.T. program, Community Emergency Response Team, from 2010 through 2013.

Tremitiedi joined the Hoboken Fire Department in June, 1960, serving as Captain from April 1, 1965 until October 16, 1976.  Following his retirement, he was a consultant for the State of New Jersey for five years as a Fire Service Subject Matter Expert in the 

Tremitiedi was a graduate of New Jersey City University and most recently was President of Fire Smart

No cause for Tremitiedi’s passing has been revealed at this time.  Details on funeral arrangements have not been announced.
