That evening account revises an earlier Wednesday afternoon Secaucus advisory that said there were “no known weapons involved.” Police said negotiations failed, Hudson County Regional SWAT then deployed gas into the apartment, and Ram surrendered. A SWAT member was injured by the suspect when struck with a blunt-force object just before the surrender. Injury severity and hospital status were not stated. SECAUCUS, N.J. — The incident began about 9:46 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, when New Jersey State Parole officers asked Secaucus Police for help serving an arrest warrant at 1326 Paterson Plank Road (Plaza Gardens apartments) for Ram, who was out on parole, according to the Secaucus Police Facebook after-action.
