Secaucus Detectives Arrest Man for Robbery

On June 6, 2026 at 5:32 A.M., the Secaucus Police responded to the Red Roof Inn located at 15 Meadowlands Parkway, on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that the male forced his way into her room, assaulted her and stole her cash and jewelry. The suspect then fled the area.

Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a follow up investigation, spearheaded by Detective Gabriel Galella. According to Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller, this was not a random act and the investigation revealed the victim was specifically targeted. The investigation conducted by Secaucus Police Detectives identified the suspect as 39-year old Freddie R. Mendenhall Jr. of Bordentown, New Jersey.

In the early morning hours of July 23, 2026, Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department were surveilling Freddie R. Mendenhall Jr.’s residence in Bordentown and arrested him there when he arrived.

“Secaucus Detectives will work tirelessly and hunt down individuals who commit crimes in Secaucus to bring them to justice,” Chief Miller stated. “The Secaucus Police Department is committed to investigating all crimes affecting the quality of life of both residents and visitors of this Town. I praise the diligent work of my Detectives, and I thank them for their dedication.”

Freddie R. Mendenhall is charged with robbery and prostitution. He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
