Secaucus Man Arrested For Child Pornography Following 7-Month Investigation

Last year Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department joined the ranks of the Internet Crimes Against Children [I.C.A.C.] Task Force – New Jersey, which is spearheaded by the New Jersey State Police.    

Yesterday, Thursday, June 15, members of the Secaucus Police Detective Division arrested 35-year old Secaucus resident Johan Marte Genao following a seven-month long investigation.  According to Police Chief Dennis Miller, the investigation was led by Secaucus Police Detective Kristen Bronowich.  Bronowich was able to confirm that Genao viewed and uploaded numerous videos depicting children engaging in sexual acts.

Based upon the investigation, Genao has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.  Chief Miller says the Court has released Genao from custody on a summons, pending his appearance in Court.  These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Chief Miller released a statement saying, “The Secaucus Police Department continues to take part in initiatives to protect our most vulnerable population, our children.  The tireless work and determination exhibited by Detective Bronowich is what directly led to this arrest. Once again, I am frustrated and disappointed that Criminal Justice Reform allowed this predator to walk free without conditions, while awaiting his Court appearance.”
