Secaucus Man Arrested with Possession of Weed and Cocaine; Police Seizes Over $10,500 in Cash and High Value Jewelry from his Residence

On July 23, 2020 at 6:09 P.M., following a month-long investigation, detectives from the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit stopped Darwin Fajardo on 8th Street and Flanagan Way.  He was subsequently arrested after being found in possession of a prepackaged quantity of suspected cocaine and small amount of US currency.

Detectives then conducted a search of his residence located on the 800 block of 8th Street, in Secaucus.  During the search, over one (1) ounce of suspected marijuana and a quantity of suspected cocaine that was prepackaged for street sale, were seized from the residence.  Additionally, packaging material and “cutting agent” were seized, confirming the cocaine found in the residence was destined for street sale.  Over $10,500.00 in cash and a large quantity of high value jewelry were seized from Darwin Fajardo and his residence, since they are suspected to have been derived from drug proceeds of this illicit drug distribution scheme.

Darwin Fajardo was charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine [2C:35-5b(3)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana [2C:35-5b(11)], Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)], Possession of Marijuana [2C:35-10a(4)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the Intent to Distribute [2C:36-3], and Money Laundering [2C:21-25]. Darwin Fajardo was lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

“I commend the tireless work of the newly created Anti-Crime Unit,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “The dedication of the detectives assigned to this unit is unparalleled and this arrest is yet another example of their diligent work in keeping the Secaucus community safe.”

Chief Miller thanked the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office for the assistance of their K-9 Unit.
