Second North Hudson Fire: 5-Alarms, 1000 Block of Bergenline in Union City

Photo Credit:  North Hudson Firefighters Association – IAFF Local 3950                                                                                                                                                     A second, multiple alarm fire hits Bergenline Avenue, just several hours after a 6-alarm blaze broke out in a West New York building near 61st Street, which impacted numerous businesses and 25 people.

The second fire, which grew to 5-alarms, struck the 1000 block of Bergenline Avenue near 10th Street in Union City.  North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue was battling the blaze with mutual aid companies on the scene.

Bergenline Avenue is shut down for several blocks in Union City.  Residents should avoid the area.  An undetermined number of people have been displaced in Union City.

Thankfully, there are no reports of any injuries from either blaze.  The cause of each fire remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, West New York officials have announced that due to this morning’s 6-alarm inferno, there is currently no access to the 62nd Street Municipal Parking Garage, nor the 63rd Street Municipal Lot.
