Se espera que el clima severo en Jersey Norte comience a mediados de la tarde hoy

This evening’s rush hour could become quite an adventure, as the National Weather Service is predicting severe thunderstorms, winds up to 60 miles per hour, hail and the potential for tornadoes in north Jersey, north of the I-95 corridor.  That puts Hudson, Bergen, Essex and other northern counties at risk for damage.

“Numerous severe storms are possible this afternoon,” the National Weather Service Mount Holly station tweeted Monday morning. “Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat, with large hail and isolated tornadoes also possible.”

All New Jersey counties have been placed under a hazardous weather outlook. Residents are urged to secure any outdoor items, such as trash barrels, lawn seating and tables, hanging plants, etc.  Meteorologists expected temperatures to drop from the low 80s to the mid-50s as the storms move through later in the afternoon and early evening.

Once this severe weather moves through, the remainder of the week is expected to be very nice.
