For approximately 25 years, Hoboken teenagers have been learning the grind of becoming a police officer. The tradition is continuing this week, as the Hoboken Junior Police Academy is underway. On Tuesday, Hudson TV stopped by as the youngsters heard from the members of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit. The kids were amazed at the amount of, and the specialization the dogs go through to become proficient at one specific skill.

The weeklong, Junior Police Academy, is open to any Hoboken resident between the ages of 12 and 15. The hope is, that one day, some of these kids may decide that a career in law enforcement is the path they want to pursue.

At the very least, the participants are finding out that law enforcement is not their enemy.
